I would like to welcome author K.S. Haigwood, Abe Cambridge and Ariana Lochalan to On The Spot with DB Angel.

Let’s start with you Mrs. Haigwood, author of Eternal Island and many other great reads.

Abe Cambridge
Background: A place where vampires rule, witches play, danger lurks and dreams really do come true. Eternal Island is a paranormal suspense novel, deeply rooted into myth. Vampires and magic form a unique backdrop to a love story with long reaching consequences. Human girl Ariana Lochalan finds herself transported from the relative calm of her ‘Nowhere, Arkansas’ life into a diametrically opposite existence when she discovers she is a powerful witch and meant to wed High Vampire of Eternal Island, Abe Cambridge. Despite first-sight magnetism, the two protagonists are being pushed apart, obstacles tripping them at every step, outside forces interfering and threatening their peace, and ultimately their lives. A world rich in magic and intrigue, Eternal Island is the first installment of a saga which has love at its core and delves through the mire that is human nature in a turmoil of feeling and emotion. Would courage, resilience and love be enough to bring together two soul mates? How much would you sacrifice to save the one who owns your heart?
Ariana Lochalan
       1.       What inspired you to write this book? "To tell you the truth, I think Ariana did." Kristie takes Ariana's hand, squeezing it a little as she smiles.  "No, I am not crazy. Well, I'm no crazier than any other author is. Most writers believe the story chooses the writer, not the other way around. At least it is what I believe. I have a lot of characters demanding I give them their spotlight. A scene from the novel popped into my head one day, and it literally would not leave me alone until I sat down at the computer and typed it out. Before I could even finish writing that scene, the next scene slammed into me. It hasn't stopped since."
      2.       Are there any juicy tidbits you would like to share with our readers concerning Abe and Ariana? Kristie busts up laughing. "Well… um… it's a little secret they've only shared with the authors. There is one little thing they like doing when alone in their chambers… watching a DVD.”
      3.       Eternal Island is book one in a series. What was the hardest scene to write? "I would have to say, the scene where Michael left us for the second time was, emotionally, the toughest scene to write. It's difficult enough losing someone you love, but losing them twice is heart-wrenching. I bawled like a baby while writing that scene.
      4.       During the climax of the story, you put your characters through the wringer. Do you feel any guilt? "Guilt? Me? No. My characters should be the ones to feel guilty. They force me to put them through all of it. Eternal Island was actually mild on the torture-level scale compared to Eternal Immortality – Book 2 and what some of my other characters go through in the Save My Soul series.
      5.       How do you feel about your creator? God created me, just like he did everyone, but if you're referring to Kristie…" she giggles, "…Kristie didn't create me. I picked her…" she takes Abe's hand, and turns to give Kristie a beaming smile, "…to tell our story."
      6.       How did you meet your creator? "I dream-walked her and showed her my idea."
      7.       Do you have any aspirations that your creator doesn’t know about? Oh, wow! I'm sure I have tons of undiscovered abilities that I'm not even aware of yet, but we are all sort of learning about my powers as we go along. It's all exciting, but overwhelming at the same time. There isn't a whole lot Kristie doesn't know about me. She has a strong connection with each and every one of us.
      8.       Do you have any idea of why you hate surprises? "Hmm… It’s a long story. I’m sure Kristie will pull it out of me one day, and stick it in a book.”
      9.       You are planning to become Queen. That is a lot of responsibility. What will be your first course of action? “That’s easy. Making sure my subjects are happy people. I love helping others, even when my husband forgets that should be his top-most priority. We’ve had the odd disagreement over this already.”
      10.   Are you ready to give up McDonald’s and tan-lines? Ariana smiles. "Oh, I won't have to do without either of those. I'm not becoming a vampire—" Abe clears his throat. "It's still up for discussion." Ariana turns her head and rolls her eyes. "Was Doris talking to you?" He holds up his hands in defeat. "We'll discuss it later." Ariana smiled sweetly. "I'm sure we will, honey."
      11.   You are a natural pure witch. Is there an innate fear of going dark? Ariana frowns and looks at Kristie. "I hope not. I mean," she shrugs, "my gift came from Heaven. There’s no darkness in Heaven, right?” Abe inhales sharply as he sits up straight. "Wonderful. Something else to worry about." Ariana pats his knee. "You know there is no chance of me ever going dark." She looks back to Kristie who avoids eye contact. "Right, Kristie?" Silence filled the room.
12.  Right. Moving on. If you had to vote someone off the island, who would it be and why?"Jonah!" Abe answered immediately. Ariana laughs out loud "This isn't reality TV. We want more people to move to the island—" Abe interrupts again. "YOU want more people to move to the island. I, on the other hand, would be quite content with having the whole island to ourselves." He smiles, and pulls her to him for a lingering kiss.
13.   Abe? Who controls your life, you or your creator? Abe snorts as he laces his fingers together behind his head, and leans against the backrest of the sofa. "I am almost a thousand years old. Nobody controls me but me." He cuts his eyes nervously over to Ariana, and then to Kristie as both women cross their arms over their chests and raise questioning eyebrows. He huffs, and his face falls in defeat. "Fine. I'm a puppet. Whatever makes two of my favorite girls in my life happy. But, I like to think I have a tiny measure of control left… at least… can I pick what we watch tonight?" Laughter fills the room.
14.   Abe, you are King of Eternal Island. How do you feel about your creator selling you out? His mouth turns up on one side. "They didn't do anything I didn't agree to let them do. Kristie or Ella won't disclose our location. If you can’t trust your creator, whom can you trust?”
15.   How does it make you feel when people make bold proclamations that your species doesn’t exist? “I’d like to shake their hands. There’s always a spare room at the palace. Come on over. We could always use more meeker on the island.”
16.   Abe, how could you not know that Lidia was your child? Do you have any idea who Lidia's mother is? “Yes, but that is private. Too uncomfortable, too raw. That's something Ariana and I need to talk about in private before you tell the world about it." He clears his throat and fidgets uncomfortably. "Can we talk about something else?”
17.   What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done to anyone, and why?I’ve allowed myself to wallow in self-pity when I had no right to. If I could tell something to my young self, it would be ‘Grow up! You have a happy ending, too.'”.
